Allen & Heath Introduces the New SQ+ Series. Allen & Heath has unveiled the next generation of its popular SQ digital mixing console series — the new SQ+ range, which includes the SQ5+, SQ6+, and SQ7+ models.

Allen & Heath has unveiled the next generation of its popular SQ digital mixing console series — the new SQ+ range, which includes the SQ5+, SQ6+, and SQ7+ models.

For many years, the SQ series has been widely used in live events, theaters, conference centers, houses of worship, studios, and corporate AV projects. The new SQ+ models build upon the strengths of the existing platform, offering enhanced processing power, new effects, and an updated user interface.

Key Differences Between SQ+ and the Original SQ Series

The new SQ+ series retains all the advantages that made the SQ platform successful:

  • 96 kHz XCVI FPGA processing

  • 48 input channels

  • Ultra-low latency

  • SLink connectivity

  • Support for Dante, Waves, MADI, and other expansion cards

In addition, the SQ+ series introduces several significant enhancements.

RackUltra FX

One of the most notable additions to the SQ+ platform is the inclusion of four new RackUltra FX engines.

These effects were originally developed for Allen & Heath’s flagship dLive platform and are now available to SQ+ users.

The RackUltra FX package includes:

  • Premium reverbs

  • Vocal tuning tools

  • Pitch processing

  • Saturation and distortion effects

  • Guitar amplifier modeling

Because these effects operate on dedicated FX engines, they have minimal impact on the console’s main processing resources.

Enhanced DEEP Processing

The new SQ+ platform features increased processing power and supports the latest generation of Allen & Heath’s DEEP Processing algorithms.

For the first time, SQ users gain access to:

  • CompStortion

  • Source Expander

  • Dual Threshold Expander

Previously, these processing tools were available only on Avantis and dLive systems.

Larger 9-Inch Touchscreen

The new SQ+ models feature a larger 9-inch touchscreen along with an updated Dark Mode user interface.

These improvements provide a more comfortable user experience in environments with changing lighting conditions, such as concerts, theaters, and live event venues.

Increased Processing Resources

The SQ+ platform delivers greater per-channel processing capacity.

This allows users to run more DEEP Processing modules and premium effects simultaneously, making the consoles suitable for more demanding productions and advanced workflows.

Designed for a Wide Range of Applications

The SQ+ series is an ideal solution for:

  • Live events

  • Theaters

  • Concert venues

  • Corporate events

  • Houses of worship

  • Educational institutions

  • Broadcast and studio productions

For existing SQ users, the SQ+ platform provides access to more advanced processing capabilities and flagship-level effects while maintaining a familiar workflow.

At MediaTech, we see the SQ+ series as the natural evolution of one of Allen & Heath’s most successful platforms. The new models preserve the intuitive workflow that users already know while introducing processing capabilities and premium effects previously available only in higher-tier systems.
