Sony BRC-AM7: New Capabilities with Firmware 3.0

Sony Professional has released Firmware Version 3.0 for the BRC-AM7 PTZ camera. The new software expands AI-based auto tracking, color correction, RCP integration, and remote control capabilities, making the camera even more functional for television broadcasting, virtual studios, and corporate AV projects.

AI Auto Framing Further Enhanced
With Firmware 3.0, the AI Auto Framing system offers more flexible control. Users can now adjust the sensitivity of Pan, Tilt, and Zoom movements, select different framing modes, and customize tracking parameters according to the shooting scenario.
The new Closer Closeup mode provides tighter, more dynamic shots of the presenter or speaker.

New Color Correction Capabilities
The update also adds advanced Color Correction features to the camera. These capabilities simplify color matching between multiple Sony cameras during multi-camera shoots and help achieve a consistent look.
This makes it easier to maintain color balance in TV studios and live broadcasts.

Smoother Control via RCP
Firmware 3.0 also expands integration with the Sony Remote Control Panel (RCP). Operators can now centrally manage camera settings, color correction, and Scene File functions.
This feature speeds up and improves workflow efficiency in multi-camera TV studios, newsrooms, and live broadcast projects.

More Stable Image and Broader Integration
The new software supports Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), delivering a more stable image, especially at high zoom levels.
In addition, Firmware 3.0 enhances support for SFP+, 3G-SDI, an improved Web UI, and other professional broadcast features, making it easier to integrate the camera into existing SDI and IP-based infrastructure.
